A Taste of History

The Leggett’s Maple Syrup is famous in the Leed’s area for its pure smooth texture and fine taste dating well back into the early 1800’s. The present day sugarhouse was built in 1893.

Carl Leggett took over farming and the maple syrup production in 1955. In 1983 his son, Bruce, graduated from Kemptville College in Ontario and came home to join him in the business. Carl and Bruce are the fifth and sixth generation syrup producers, respectively.

Leggett’s syrup has travelled not only across Canada and the United States but also to such countries as England, Switzerland, Russia, and Australia.
